Outrageously enjoyable! That's a potluck for ya.

The 2nd picnic potluck was unbeatable.  "It was just what I needed, not to mention the awesomeness of the food," said Doug.  We stayed dry and cool, despite a predicted storm and we chillaxed for several hours enjoying good company and amazing food.

I can't adequately describe the Pumpkin Hummus made by Krista.  Or her Vegan Carrot Cupcakes.  Or her Grilled Corn Salad...her food was the star of the picnic.

Even more decadent food was shared:  watermelon, feta, and mint salad, fish tacos, home grown tomatoes...

To top it all off, we got to eat cake too!  Celebrating Sasha's birthday with a Cinnamon Apple Cake added to an already plentiful dessert course.

And then there were Somerville's own Kick*ss Cupcakes!

Several of the recipes for the food from this potluck can be found on the recipe page.  Enjoy.

Rusty Hamlin, you're invited to the Somerville Potluck.

"A Roadie With A Whisk," an article from the New York Times "Dining and Wine" section, is about preconcert "eat and greets" hosted by the Zac Brown Band for their fans.  They were inspired to host them as a way to remove the awkwardness of traditional fan + band meet and greets.  Their chef, Rusty Hamlin, buys local ingredients from each city in which the band is playing and cooks up impressively unique, original, and apparently delicious meals for fans.

I'd like to invite Rusty Hamlin to our potlucks:

Picnic Potluck August 21st!

We had such a nice, outdoorsy, and delicious time at the picnic potluck in July that we've decided a 2nd picnic was a good idea for August.  This Sunday, August 21 we'll meet on the Esplanade, near the hatch shell, for a potluck with a "local" theme.  Call either Sasha or I once you're in the area if you can't spot us immediately.  Click on the Next Potluck page for more info.

Hoping for sunshine and to see many of you there!
